Summary
At Prepa Tec Morelia, student performance in “Tutoring and Integral Wellbeing” classes declined due to the absence of numerical grades. To address this, we implemented digital badges and gamification strategies to boost engagement. The study found that incorporating these tools improved participation and reduced the number of undelivered assignments, despite a slight increase in late submissions. Students showed increased motivation by sharing earned badges on social media. This approach, integrated into the CANVAS LMS, demonstrates that gamification can enhance student involvement and performance even in non-graded courses, aligning with educational goals beyond traditional grading systems.
